LEED registered project. Owner's Representative and Project Manager for design development of new vocational technical school. Project included design of carpentry, electrical, welding, masonry, HVAC, CADD, plumbing laboratories and establishment of LEED Silver goals. We coordinated, facilitated and led design charettes between architect, facilities staff engineers, trade unions and curriculum administrators. We coordinated with Zoning Board and local community groups for project approval. We evaluated project budgets and schedules. We prepared programming documents, performed frequent design reviews, and identified value engineering ideas. We conducted pre-bid meetings and coordinated site inspections, coordinated bid document production and schedule for publication, and managed requests for information. Project is currently on hold.

Environmental Aspects
Project highlights include renovation of an existing 1920's brick Vo-Tech school by re-using the existing shell, taking advantage of the ready access to public transportation, minimizing the parking, 20% water use reduction, 20% energy use reduction, ozone depletion, specifying regional, recyclable and low-emitting materials.

The particularly interesting aspect of this project was that the building itself would be used as an instructional tool to teach the building trades. Efforts were made to design the building with state-of-the art building processes and materials and to feature them through the use of exposed systems.
